Quincy Koczka - Spring 2025 - Industrial Arts Studio

• 5/29/25

Quincy Koczka’s presentation explored the rich intersection of architecture and design through the lens of an artist deeply rooted in craft. Telling a personal story of transformation, Quincy shared how turning wood became not just a skill, but a language—first through creating objects, then furniture, and eventually architectural elements such as spindles, corbels, and other expressive details. His talk highlighted the intimate connection between craft, space, and the people who shape and are shaped by both. With a focus on process, materiality, and cultural narrative, Quincy invited us to consider how the act of making can inform how we design, inhabit, and preserve the built environment.
