Cameron Visone - Spring 2025 - Industrial Arts Studio
Cameron Visone, known as The Stained Glassman, delivered a captivating presentation at BAF’s 6 Minute Building Stories, diving deep into the meticulous world of stained glass and traditional wooden sash window restoration. Their work spans repair, restoration, rehabilitation, and the creation of new leaded glass pieces—always with a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship.
A true advocate for preservation, Cameron is passionate about maintaining what’s already in place, often found researching age-old techniques in libraries and archives. Cameron shared insights on everything from the “X method” for re-roping wooden sash windows to re-cementing leaded glass panels—highlighting the skill, patience, and knowledge required for these fading trades.
Cameron emphasized the critical shortage of trained professionals in traditional preservation crafts, pointing to a larger issue: the lack of acknowledgment of why this work matters. The talk served as both a celebration and a call to action—to value, learn, and preserve the artistry and integrity of our built heritage and the craft that goes into it.
